Bedrock

The vehicle we are currently developing for the 2026 NASA Student Launch Challenge.

Currently in development for the 2025-2026 NASA Student Launch Challenge, Project Bedrock is AURA’s biggest rocket to date, at BLANK UNITS tall and 8-inches in diameter. The rocket is being designed to reach an altitude of roughly BLANK UNITS, after which it will begin a parachute-aided descent using both a drogue and main chute. Upon landing, its payload will autonomously collect and analyze soil composition, fulfilling NASA’s mission criteria for autonomous sample testing. In the months leading up to the competition launch in April 2026, the team will launch subscale vehicles to verify systems, test performance with simulations, and complete manufacturing and assembly of the vehicle.
